CLOS DU ROI WHITE
This cuvée made from Grenache blanc, Clairette and Roussanne grapes is rare because it is limited in terms of quantity and benefits from a long ageing period of 18 months in large wooden vats called “foudres” and in barrels. An exceptional result and a remarkable laying down potential!
Grenache blanc, Clairette, Roussanne
Situated on the low and medium-height terraces of Châteauneuf du Pape. Clay-limestone soil covered with rounded pebbles. The climate is Mediterranean with two dry seasons (one in winter and a longer one in summer) and two rainy seasons (heavy some years in autumn and lighter in spring). Finally, the presence of the Mistral wind throughout the year is a real advantage for the healthy growth of the vines.
Manual harvesting with strict sorting in the vineyard to ensure the optimal quality of the harvest. The long pressing process at low temperature allows us to select the best juices. After cold static settling, the musts are transferred into oak barrels (55% volume, with 15% new barrels) and vats to begin their fermentation. The ageing process continues in containers on fine lees for 9 months, with regular stirring to obtain volume on the palate and aromatic complexity for this white wine to lay down.
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape opens on lovely notes of pale-fleshed fruits and touches of acacia honey. Its expressive nose invites you to discover a rich and ample wine on the palate, with subtle woody notes which bring structure, finesse and elegance. The finish carried by the natural tension of the wine expresses the great depth of this Clos du Roi
Degré : 13.5°C
