Côtes-du-Rhône
CHÂTEAU GIGOGNAN RED
Benefitting from the same high standards and careful attention as all our other wines in terms of harvesting, winemaking, ageing and bottling, our Côtes-du-Rhône is made to showcase the traditional varietals of the southern Rhône Valley. It is made with the fruit of vines tended to produce low yields and attain optimal maturity.
VARIETALS
Grenache noir - Mourvèdre - Syrah - Cinsault - Carignan
SOIL/CLIMATE
Situated close to the château on a slightly sandy, clay-loam terroir
Finally, the presence of the Mistral wind throughout the year is a real advantage for the healthy growth of the vines.
WINEMAKING
The destemmed grapes are placed in controlled-temperature vats, moderate extraction by light pump-overs and punch-downs, followed by a period of maceration after fermentation (2 weeks). Blending after malolactic fermentation and then ageing in stainless steel and concrete vats.
